Midnight Plane

How I took the Midnight Plane going anywhere...

This started out as a German blog about my year working in Florida as a Cultural Representative in Disney World, mainly to keep my friends back home updated.

Now I ended up revamping this blog, switched to English, and since I'm pretty much hopping from one plane to another, going anywhere, I hope to keep more than only my friends updated and inspired about the possibilities and wonderful things this world has to offer.

I've traveled my whole life, mainly in Europe, a few weeks in Africa.
Since seeing as much of the world as possible is my number 1 priority in life, I decided to  move to Florida and work at Walt Disney World after graduating from university in summer 2015. During the one year that I've been working for the company I traveled to Miami, Key West, New Orleans, New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Puerto Rico and Yellowstone national park, as well as some camping trips and other adventures.
After the program I will travel about 50 days to 3 continents, 5 countries, 8 national parks and 3 wonders of the world - so stay tuned!

I'm a 20-something solo female traveler, a wanderer, backpacker, explorer.
I'm curious about life and find inspiration in the little things. I grow with every new experience, every country and city that I visit, and every conversation being held.
And I want to show that traveling solo is nothing to be afraid of.

I love traveling independently, even if it means to travel alone. It can be challenging for women, and you keep hearing that it's "too dangerous".
So far I didn't have any bad experiences. Sure, you always have to be aware of your surroundings. Cat calling, inappropriate offers, or people who just don't take you seriously.
But that's the same you get at home, too.

The benefits and positive thoughts always outbalance the bad ones. Escaping the grey everyday life, leaving all negativity behind. Stand at a mountain top, breathing in, enjoying the silence.
Getting lost in a big city, while staying anonymous in the crowd. Watching the hectic people rushing by, while having nowhere to be and nothing to do except for appreciating the moment.

It's not the tourist attractions. It's the little things that make traveling special.
Wether you experience them alone, share them with old or new friends or your partner.

The ordinary yet extraordinary experiences.
It's the piece of the fresh pineapple you just plucked in the rainforest.
It's the tiny café with the best ice cream in the world, not far from the Colosseum yet hidden in a small, quiet street.
It's the bar hidden behind a bar hidden behind a bar hidden behind a bar.
It's startling in the middle of the night, because you woke up to the lion's roar.
It's the jump into the ice cold water at the crack of dawn, while the fog still lingers over the morning.
It's a never-ending list of all those fantastic things.

There's still so much more to see and to learn. And I hope to experience as much of it as possible before I kick the bucket.

So follow my journey, inspire me and be inspired - Take the midnight plane with me.
